Note: Colonel John Lawrence, served as a soldier in the Continental army during the entire Revolutionary struggle. He became an early settler in North Yarmouth, Me., where he engaged in farming and lumbering and was a prominent man in his day. He was identified with the formation of the early State militia, in which he held a Colonel's commission; and he was widely known as an able business man and a useful citizen. He died in North Yarmouth at the age of eighty-four years. He reared four sons; namely, Samuel, John, David, and Joseph.
